For a summary of the new laptop lending system, please read the answers to our FAQ below.

-

How It Works:

Patrons may request a laptop for checkout at the front desk: laptops MUST be kept in the building, but may be used anywhere within the library for one hour. (If, at the end of your hour, no one else is waiting to use a laptop, up to one further hour may be permitted.)

-

What is Provided:

At checkout, you will be provided with one laptop and the matching power cord. Each laptop has a secure Guest account that can be used to access the internet. Please note that the laptops are intended primarily for internet use, and are NOT currently equipped with desktop programs for offline work (such as the creation of spreadsheets or slideshow presentations).

The library is also NOT currently able to provide the following: headphones, mouse, stylus, USB drive, or any connector/adapter to an external device.

Printing from each laptop is available via our HotSpot.

-

Who is Eligible:

To sign out a laptop, you must be a registered patron with our library under your own name. Your account must list a verified address, and must show NO fines or overdue items.

Patrons must also be at least 15 years old, and able to provide a state-recognized photo ID at the time of laptop checkout.
